French and German local authorities in the energy transition - 19-20 March

While Germany is already putting in place policy measures leading to the "Energiewende", France is currently engaged in a national debate on the energy transition.

With the recent launch of the Franco-German Office for Renewable Energies bu the ministers of environment Delphine Batho and Peter Altmaier, the two countries are strenghtening their cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

As local drivers of the energy transition, Covenant of Mayors signatories will be represented by ambassadors of the French and German Covenant of Mayors Clubs in a cross-border meeting "Transition énergétique" vs "Energiewende" on the 19th and 20th of March in Stuttgart. They will share the expectations of the local authorities from the regional, national and European levels regarding the energy transition in their country.

This meeting is organised in the framework of the 50th Anniversary of the Elysée Treaty by Energy Cities, Climate Alliance, the Baden-Wurtemberg Energy agency KEA and the city of Stuttgart.
